Spinaloga

This excursion takes you to the east side. First, you do a coffee stop and then you go to Elounda resort where you take the boat to Spinalonga. The island of Spinalonga was a Venetian fortress used as a Leper Colony until 1957. It is a beautiful place with turquoise waters, but also sad, quite and remaining buildings that remind us of the pain the people who lived there suffered.

After your visit to Spinalonga you have 2 hours free time to stroll through the small seaside village Elounda, enjoy the local cuisine or have a refreshing swim.

You also have free time in Agios Nikolaos, small and romantic town with a picturesque harbour where you find one of the two sweet water lakes of Crete.
