Imbros

The Imbros Gorge is a hidden gem that is often overshadowed by the more popular Samaria Gorge. However, it offers equally stunning views and is perfect for families with children or anyone looking for an easier hiking option. 8 wonderful kilometres of hike throw the gorge full of history and natural beauty will make a perfect addition to your visited places on Crete.

We start in the morning and drive to the entrance of Impros Gorge passing the breathtaking views of the plateau Askifou and part of the south coast in the Chania district. It takes around 2 to 3 hours to walk through the gorge, passing the narrowest part of the gorge where walls are only 1.6 meters away one from another. Inside the gorge, you will see many endemic plants and wild herbs.

At the end of the hike, we are coming to the village Komitades, where we gather and move to our next destination of the day, Sfakia village, where you will be able to swim in the Libyan Sea and explore the village's narrow streets and traditional architecture, visit the local museums and monuments.
