Preveli Palm Beach

Preveli Palm Beach is a tropical paradise on the south coast of Rethymno included in Natura 2000. The stunning and untamed beauty of this natural wonder will always stay in your heart. Here you will find all that you could wish for: crystal clear waters of the Libyan Sea, palm forest, stunning tall walls of the canyon Kourtalioti and mountain river that meets the sea right at the beautiful palm beach where we will be spending our time. The landscapes that you will see are believed to be one of the most beautiful with the Theophrastii palm species being the unique variety and one of only two native species in Europe. Besides according to archaeologists, it was inhabited by our ancestors 130,000 years ago.

Our tour starts in the morning as we depart from Rethymno and the wider area, we will be driving to the Damnoni beach approximately 35km from Rethymno. At the beach we will board the boat that in approximately 1 hour will take us along the south coast to our destination. During the 2h30m of stay, you will have an opportunity to enjoy the beach of Preveli and walk on the small path along the river that will take you deeper into the palm forest. If you are brave enough you can also swim in the cold water of the river that comes down from the mountains. A romantic surprise awaits you at the eastern part of the beach, with a beautiful rock in the shape of a heart that is called “The Stone of Lovers”.
